We have designed and planned a broad and balanced learning journey with Christ at the centre. Our new school library prominently displays the Bible as we strongly believe that reading opens the door to enable children to reach their God-given potential. With this in mind, reading is at the heart of our curriculum.
The range of experiences we offer support our school ethos and ensure that every child benefits from a full range of academic, spiritual, moral, social, vocational and cultural activities. These activities enrich our children’s lives and those of the wider school community. We are proud of our values and our society to which we belong and play an active part in. Our curriculum provides our children with the skills, confidence, knowledge and self-belief to lead happy and fulfilled lives.
Through a balanced curriculum, we believe every child can feel valued and successful. We have designed our new topic-based curriculum to ensure an appropriate level of exposure to different subject areas so that children are learned across a range of subjects and therefore leave school with an understanding of the importance of all areas of learning. We recognise the importance of wellbeing, physical health and mental health so we provide a flexible approach to learning/timetabling. We also recognise the importance of core subjects therefore we have high standards and expectations so that children can succeed in preparation for the next stage of their academic journey.
Our curriculum builds on key skills, ideas and knowledge. We know that children need the opportunity to build on previous learning and apply their ideas in new situations so we know it is important to revisit previous areas of learning. Our progressive content ensures we have high expectations whilst allowing children to naturally develop a deeper understanding of skills and knowledge across all subject areas.
